Calvary Community Care
Ministry Leader
Calvary Community Care is a grouping of ministries through which we serve our local community. For information about any of the services of Calvary Community Care, contact Judi, the CCC ministry leader, by calling 847.566.0694 or by clicking here.
Along Side
Our Along Side ministry team serves the community by providing God's love in the form of food and assistance to people in our community in partnership with Love INC of Lake County. This includes our food pantry which is available to those in our community who are in need of food. If you or someone you know is in need of assistance, please contact Judi on Tuesdays between noon and 3:00 PM. The food pantry is also open one Saturday each month, and Spanish speaking staff are available to assist you. In addition, Thanksgiving dinners are distributed each year on request to those who contact us by November 1.
If you would like to provide food to support the pantry, please consider bringing us non-perishable items from the following list: hot cereal, cold cereal, baking mixes, syrup, peanut butter, jelly, applesauce, sugar, catsup, powdered milk, macaroni and cheese, spaghetti sauce, tomato products, pasta products, ramen noodles, rice, fruit, jello, one dish meals, soup, tuna, baked beans, canned vegetables, desserts, toilet paper and soap.
Friends Indeed
Friends Indeed is a lay ministry of individuals who care and want to extend friendship, grace and a listening ear, with the hope of encouraging and helping those who face challenging situations in their lives. As a lay ministry, these individuals are not trained professionals and have met only a basic training criteria established by the program that is not recognized by any licensing agency. We desire, in providing this service of peer support, to help those we serve to meet the challenges of life in a way that allows them to understand and experience God's love in the middle of real life.
Local Grants
Each year, we make grants to community service organizations such as Love INC, Habitat for Humanity and the Mundelein High School scholarship fund.
New Ministries
New Calvary Community Care ministries begin when we find a willing leader and an idea that fits our mission and vision of reaching out to our community. Have an idea? Want to help out with an existing ministry? Contact the church office for information on how to get started.
